The Arrow of Light award is to the Cub scouting, what an Eagle rank is to Boy Scouting. Quite simply, the highest honor a Cub Scout can earn. Better yet, the Arrow of Light is the only Cub Scout badge that can be worn on you son's Boy Scout uniform.

Arrow Of Light Badge Requirements
  1. Be active in your Webelos patrol for at least six months since completing the fourth grade (or at least six months since becoming 10 years old), and earn the Webelos badge.

    • Show your knowledge of the requirements to become a Boy Scout by doing all of these:
      1. Repeat from memory and explain in your own words the following: In addition, tell how you have practiced the ideal in each of these statements in your everyday life:
        • The Scout Oath
        • The 12 points of the Scout Law
      2. Give and explain:
        • Boy Scout Sign
        • Boy Scout Salute - keep your fingers in scout sign position
        • The Scout Handshake
        • Understand the significance of the Scout badge. Know its parts and tell what each stands for.
        • Tell how a Boy Scout uniform is different from a Webelos Scout uniform.
    • Earn five more Webelos Activity Pins for a total of eight. The Webelos scout has already earned three pins for his Webelos badge. The total of eight pins must include:
      1. Citizen,
      2. Fitness,
      3. Readyman,
      4. At least three more activity pins, one each from the outdoor, mental skills, and technology groups.
    • With your Webelos patrol or den, visit at least one Boy Scout troop meeting, and one Boy Scout-oriented outdoor (Webelos Woods - first year Webelos) activity.
    • Participate in a Webelos overnight campout (Webelos Woods - second year Webelos) or day hike.
    • After you have completed all five of the above requirements, and after a talk with your Webelos leader.
      1. Visit, with your parent or guardian, a meeting of a Boy Scout Troop you think you might like to join. Talk to their Scoutmaster.
      2. Then get an "Application to Become a Boy Scout", fill it out and have your parent or guardian sign it.
      3. Show the signed Application to your Webelos leader and talk about your interest in becoming a Boy Scout.
