Scott Robertson

Scouting Background: In 1982 I joined a brand new program called Tiger Cubs, we were these cool little kids that wore orange t-shirts, had a neat poster that we put paw prints on to track our advancement and did all kinds of fun things. From Tigers I completed Bobcat, Wold, Bear, Webelos, and even earned my Arrow of Light. Then I crossed into Boy Scouts and over many years earned every rank including Eagle in 1991. I never earned any Eagle palms, because my dad retired from the Air Force and we moved to Las Vegas where my grandfather lived. I never earned any Eagle Palms, because the first Troop I joined in Las Vegas, never provided me with the necessary merit badge coulnselor information and support. Maybe this was a differences between Troops and I did not know how to get the information from them.

I have been through more trainings then I can count. As a youth, Junior Leader Training and Den Chief Training. As an Adult Scoutmaster Fundamentals, Committee Training, Youth protection, PowWow, Show and Do, Woodbadge, and so the list goes on. Away from Scouting I have also attended the Air Force Youth protection course and been through a number of trail tool courses put on by the California Conservation Corps, National Forest Service and Americorps*NCCC. I was also trained by Americorps*NCCC as a team quartermaster.

As a Youth and an Adult I served on staff at our local summer camp for four different years. Two of those years I was the Director of Outdoor Skills.

As a Youth I held a number of leadership positions including Scribe, Liberian, Historian, Troop Guide, Den Chief, Patrol Leader among others I am sure.

As an Adult I have held Assistant Scoutmaster, Advancement Chair, Pack Committee Chair, Webelos Den Leader, Troop Administrative Assistant (made up in my Troop), among many others.

At the District level I have served as a member of the Scout level training team and assisted with a number of District Award Ceremonies (mostly putting the program together and making the certificates). Additionally I have ran a few Camp-O-Ree and have assisted with many more. Also I was a Council webmaster for two years.

Not related to BSA, I also served as webmaster for an International Scout Museum for several years and was the Scout Link Jamboree On The Internet (an International position) for three years.

General Background:

I was born at Edwards Air Force base and spent most of my youth moving every few years. One of the moves took me away from my Best Friend, and actually turned me into a young hermit for a few years. I always had problems in school do to a variety of learning disabilities and was the center of almost every kids jokes and harassment.

After graduation from High School I worked for a before and after school program for about a year. Then I spent a year in Americorps National Cilvilan Community Corps (basically a domestic Peace Corps). After that I attended a community college for many years, and often changed my degree. Finally I graduated with two degrees in computers. Also during this time I worked in the School computer lab and as a computer tutor.

A few year after college I hooked up with a old client and started a business to help authors market and sell there books. After two years and thousands in investments this company folded.

Currently I am working for a small company that runs a large wedding site as a web application developer.

I should mention that I started InsaneScouter as a hobby / learning project back in my college days. InsaneScouter is now as much part of me as I am part of it. InsaneScouter is my life, my hopes and my dreams all rolled into one.
